has been set up with the objective of bringing out Professionally trained Drivers and improve upon the road safety /Driving habits to reduce accidents on our Roads.
The Institute will conduct Refresher courses for existing Drivers and Fresh candidates who wish to take up Driving as a Profession in addition to conducting Road Safety awareness training programmes for General public and School students.
The Driver training course being offered through this institute would be of International standards to benefit the students passing out of this institute and increase their employment chances in foreign countries.
Special sponsored programme will be conducted for unemployed youth living is rural areas of Telangana aged between 20 to 28 years and who wish to take up Driving as a Profession .
The identified students will undergo a 90 days training programme before being offered campus recruitment by leading transport companies based in Telangana and other parts of the country
The courses in addition to imparting Driving Skills will also focus on the overall development of the student in terms of Driving discipline and behavior on and off the roads. This shall bring in a new Breed of Drivers and improve the safety on our Roads and increase their social respect of Drivers in the Society .
Project Partners:
The project is being set up as a Joint Venture under the Public Private Partnership envisaged under the 12th Plan between –Ministry of Road Transport and Highways-New Delhi , Government of Telangana and Ashok Leyland Ltd .
Project Infrastructure Details:
1. The construction of the facility built with a project cost of 21.69 Crores spread over 20 Acres of land with 52,000 Square feet of built area with 3.2 Kms of Driving Road Tracks consisting of 4 Lane,6 Lane , Gradients, “U “ bend, “S “ Bend along with “8” Road configuration “H” configuration for Driver testing .
2. 5 Classrooms equipped with Audio Visual aids for effective theory training of 180 participants.
3. Hostel with canteen facilities for 180 Students in campus .
4. Heavy Duty and Light Duty Driving- 3 Nos Driving Simulators available for preparing students to Drive under varying road conditions.
5. Training facilities available for Light Motor vehicles and Heavy Vehicles .
A fleet of both Goods and Passenger vehicles from 1.5 Tonnes to 30 Tonnes EQUIPPED WITH DUAL PEDAL Controls for Driver Training

Operations and Management of the Institute:
The institute will be managed by Ashok Leyland Limited - India’s Second Largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles and having well experienced professionals conducting classes with scientifically developed curriculum for the students.
Presently, Ashok Leyland has Eleven well-established Driver Training Institutes (DTI) in India: at Namakkal (right in the trucking heartland of Tamil Nadu), Burari (in Delhi), Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh), Kaithal (Haryana), Bhubaneswar (Orissa), Railmagra (Rajasamand dist, Rajasthan), Dharwad (Bangalore), Yelahanka (Bangalore) and Vadodara, Hazira & Dahej ( all in Gujarat).
This institute is the 12th that is becoming operational now and another DTI is currently being constructed at Nagpur, Maharashtra
